I would have tried Twisted Yogurt (located on Calgary Trail) sooner, but it is very far out of my way. finally, the opportunity arose this week. The selection of yogurt flavours was decent, and I combined plain with chocolate and raspberry. The chocolate was not all that rich, but the other two flavours were good. I think the selection of toppings is the biggest of all of the different fro-yo places I have tried. They even line the wall. Most of the cereals are in hanging containers that you have to release with a lever, and the stuff comes out FAST! I would prefer everything just be in bins to scoop out, because I ended up with far more Lucky Charms than I intended. It is a good thing I liked them! I would definitely come here again if I am out this way and have a craving for frozen yogurt.

Froyo at Menchie's
I am a frozen yoghurt fanatic - it doesn't twist my gut like most other dairy products - so I absolutely had to try the new location of Menchie's near 87 Avenue and 109 Street in the Garneau area.
I was impressed with the number and variety of flavours. I wish the chocolate and vanilla dispensers worked a bit better. I ended up with original tart flavour as well as tart cherry. I could have just done a twist of them, as they were in the same machine, but oh well.
The number of self-serve toppings was also huge, and leaned on the candy side, as well as nuts, chocolates, granola, and fruit. I went with a rather diverse assortment of Smarties, granola, Skor bits, chocolate rocks, and chocolate macaroons. Did I mention this was my lunch? Stop judging me.
Payment is by weight and there is only one size of cup. Staff are very friendly. This place bodes a definite return visit.

Frozen Yogurt at Pinkberry
For me, frozen yogurt is the new ice cream. I eat it far more often and even now during these frigid months of winter. So, I was thrilled to stumble upon the new location of Pinkberry at West Edmonton Mall.
I eagerly samples some flavours - you can try before you buy - and I had the tart and pomegranate, which I ended up getting swirled. The choices of toppings are similar to other frozen yogurt places, with fruit, nuts, candy, and sauces, except this is not self-serve. As many toppings will go in your cup as will comfortably fit. For me, that was four.
I was impressed with the portion size and selection of flavours and toppings. I shall return.

Frozen Yogurt at Tutti Frutti
I can't get enough of Tutti Frutti, and the fact the chain opened another Edmonton franchise this weekend in West Edmonton Mall means I may actually have to spend more time in that bastion of consumerism.
However, this tasty treat was purchased yet again at the original Whyte Avenue location. I decided to ass some fresh fruit to the original tart and blueberry flavoured yogurt - double blueberry intensity! I also added my usual round of cereal, plus some almonds, just to be different.

Frozen Yogurt with Cereal Again
On my way to my final shift at the Fringe yesterday, I had lunch at Tutti Frutti on Whyte Avenue. This time, I only partook of the original Tart flavour, only loaded up the bowl 3/4 of the way, and finished it off with as much cereal as I could pack on. That was good eating!

Frozen Yogurt: Three Flavours and Cereal
Oh Tutti Frutti, why do you taste so good? I headed to the Whyte Avenue location and had a small bowl with three flavours: tart, green tea, and taro. I actually like tart the best. It's a bold flavour that defines to me what frozen yogurt should taste like.
I added cereal galore: Cheerios, Raisin Bran, Fruit Loops, Frosted Mini-Wheats, And Captain Crunch. Oh, and a few pieces of crumbled brownie, just because.
My lesson for next time: leave more room for toppings!

Another Frozen Yogurt at Tutti Frutti
A blazingly hot afternoon on Whyte Avenue led me to crave more Tutti Frutti, as I set about enjoying the Blues on Whyte celebration.
I mixed red velvet with TF's Tart, and actually enjoyed the tart flavour the best. It tasted exactly what I expect frozen yogurt to taste like. The red velvet was sweet and pleasant, but not very distinguishable.
My toppings included granola, Frosted Mini-Wheats, and Honey Nut Cheerios. I love cereal toppings!

Tutti Frutti on a Hot Afternoon
I liken Tutti Frutti to a frozen yogurt bar. Grab your cup, insert yogurt, and then add as many toppings as you want. Pay by weight, and away you go.
Today's creation consisted of Death by Chocolate and Taro yogurt, topped with Smarties (which were a bit sticky from a combination of the heat and a yogurt-covered serving spoon), chocolate chips, Frosted Mini-Wheats (one of the best toppings, actually), and Froot Loops. A balanced meal, indeed!

Fro-Yo - Greenhouse
After my sub-par meal at Gaya yesterday, I went nearby to The Greenhouse to have a frozen yogurt for dessert. This regular size cost about $5.50 and came with three toppings. I went for granola, cranberries, and blueberries.
The yogurt itself was strawberry - I thought it would be plain. The blueberries were on the bottom and in syrup. I don't think they were all that fresh. The cranberries were actually craisins, and I wish they had specified this as it may have affected my desire to order them. They stuck to my teeth, taking icy cold yogurt with them, causing me a lot of temperature-induced pain. The granold was so-so, and looked it it was mostly crumbs from the bottom of a package.
I find Tutti Frutti on Whyte Avenue and Kiwi Kiss in City Centre Mall to be much better value and quality.

Frozen Yogurt at Tutti Frutti
Frozen yogurt is a great mid-afternoon pick-me-up, especially on an unseasonably warm September afternoon. I was on Whyte Avenue and Tutti Frutti (10420 82 Avenue) caught my eye. I had heard a lot about this place, particularly the fact it is self-serve.
Upon arrival, I grabbed a bucket - I mean, a small cup - and started to fill it with several of the ten-ish available flavours. Chocolate, green tea, and taro made a colourful arrangement. Then, I topped it off with cashews, granola, and Smarties. I paid by the weight (it was just under $5) and sat down at one of the many tables in the open, bright space.
The green tea flavour was rather subtle, but the taro and chocolate really packed a kick. The taro tasted like bubble tea (when it is made from powder, not fresh taro) and the chocolate was as rich as ice cream (well, almost).
I was so overwhelmed by the selections at first, but making my own fro-yo creation was a lot of fun.
